OEFFA Policy Announces 2024 Film Screening Series

The Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association’s (OEFFA) Policy Program and its generous partners invite you to the 2024 OEFFA Policy Film Screening Series.

The series features a curated selection of films that explore the many facets of our food and farming systems. Highlighting global problems and featuring local voices, the series will raise awareness, inspire dialogue, and empower positive change.

Following each film (aside from Digging In, at the OEFFA Conference), there will be an expert-led panel discussion to spark conservation and inspire us to work together for policy change.

The screenings are free and open to the public (but we encourage you to register). Closed captioning will be offered. Please contact us for additional accommodations and support.

The Films

Sunday, January 14 | 3 p.m.

Dayton, Ohio – Join us at The Neon for Food Chains. The documentary takes a deep look at the living and working conditions of agricultural laborers in Immokalee, Florida—the epicenter of one of the most important fights for food workers’ rights.

Friday, February 16 | 7:30 p.m.

Newark, Ohio – Join us at the 2024 OEFFA Conference for a showing of Digging In. The new film explores the many facets of the U.S. food system: corporate control, land ownership, the climate crisis, and the hollowing out of rural America.

Sunday, March 24 | 2 p.m.

Athens, Ohio – Join us at The Athena Cinema for SEED: The Untold Story. The film follows the seed keepers trying to protect our vital, miraculous seed varieties—of which we’ve already lost 94 percent over the last century.

Sunday, April 21 | 2 p.m.

Columbus, Ohio – Join us at Studio 35 for an Earth Day celebration and showing of The Ants & the Grasshopper. The film follows Malawian activist Anita Chitaya as she brings attention to the climate crisis and the divisions shaping our country.
