Heart of Ohio Chapter Tour: Together We Grow
Thursday, May 20—6 – 8 p.m.
Together We Grow (TWG) is a nonprofit organization that strategically places community gardens in low income areas of Licking County. These gardens supply places for people to grow their own food and also three FREE U-Pick markets, in areas where many people face food insecurity on a regular basis. TWG also has gardens in every school in Newark City schools, as well as a greenhouse complex that houses three programs. Here We Grow Gardens, for adults with developmental disabilities. Victory Gardens for Veterans provides free garden beds for each veteran who wants to grow their own garden. Power of Plants educational program serves students from preschool through high school.
On your tour, you will visit four different gardens, get to visit our greenhouse complex, see our aquaponics system, and see our Children’s Garden, and maybe get to pick some ripe raspberries!
